City transport passes known as Mobilis are also available. The metro Tren Urbano in San Juan connects San Juan, Guaynabo and Bayamón, but is not present in Condado and Old San Juan. Express bus E40 runs from the airport to Estación Piñero, one of Tren Urbano stations. The price for a one-way ticket is $ 0.75, the bus driver only accepts exact change. Bus line D53 runs between San Juan Luis Muñoz Marín Airport and Terminal Covadonga, via Isla Verde, Ocean Park, Condado (Ashford Avenue) and Puerto Rico Convention Center.
Travel time from the airport to the city centre is about one hour.īus line T5 runs between Terminal Iturregui (Carolina) and Terminal Covadonga, via the airport and Isla Verde. Both buses run all days of the week, approximately every 30 minutes, the bus stops are located directly in front of Terminal A and Terminal B.
The bus station is located a very short distance from Castillo de San Cristóbal and San Juan Cruise Port Terminal. Bus routes T5 and D53 connect the airport and Terminal Covadonga in the historical centre of the capital (Viejo San Juan). If you are travelling with one of more pieces of baggage, you can only travel to and from the airport by taxi.
